Wake up to your call.
When your sleep syncs, Ember scores your recovery from 0 to 100 against your own 30-day normal and makes the call: Push, Steady or Restore. You get exact heart rate targets and an effort level for today's workout.
Ember reads last night's recovery from your watch and turns it into today's plan: a call, heart rate targets, an effort level, and a tap on your wrist when you go over.
Most trackers tell you how you slept. Ember tells you what to do about it, then coaches you through the workout and tells you how it went.
When your sleep syncs, Ember scores your recovery from 0 to 100 against your own 30-day normal and makes the call: Push, Steady or Restore. You get exact heart rate targets and an effort level for today's workout.
Your live heart rate sits on an arc with today's zone and cap, and its color tells you where you are at a glance: white below your zone, green in it, orange above it, red over the cap. Ember taps your wrist when you go over the cap, nudges you if you sit above your zone, and fills an Ember Load bar toward today's target.
Plan Match scores every workout against the plan: load, average heart rate, time over the cap and how hard it felt. One number, one color, and one note on what to change next time.
Fully charged. Go after it: higher heart rate targets and a bigger load target.
Solid, not peak. Work hard, keep a few reps in reserve, and don't chase max effort.
Running low. Show up, but ease off, or take a rest day with a full recovery plan.
The score, the call and the targets are free for everyone. No subscription needed to train on your recovery.
Your recovery from 0 to 100, judged against your own 30-day normal instead of a population average.
An average range, a brief peak and an effort level built from your own resting and max heart rate. Strength days run lower, conditioning days higher.
Every minute of training weighted by intensity, so hard sessions and long easy ones both count. Ember Pro adds a target for today, so you know when you've done enough.
One tap turns the day into a recovery plan: easy movement under a heart rate ceiling, mobility, hydration, protein and an earlier night.
Optional for women: HRV and resting heart rate are judged against your own same-phase normal, so a normal luteal dip doesn't read as poor recovery.
Add your due date and Ember adjusts by trimester: your normal moves with you, heart rate caps and load targets come down, effort goes by the talk test, and plans add pregnancy-safe training notes. After birth it keeps days easy until your provider clears you.
Today's call on your Home Screen, Lock Screen, StandBy, watch face and Smart Stack, where it rises to the top each morning.
A notification the moment last night's sleep reaches Apple Health, so your call is ready when you are.
Enter your HRV, resting heart rate and sleep by hand for any of the last two weeks. Ember scores it the same way.
Wear Oura, WHOOP or Garmin? Share them into Apple Health and Ember uses that data too. Apple Watch works automatically.
Tell Ember how you feel each morning, from great to rough, and it adjusts today's call the way a good coach would.
Protein, water and a bedtime matched to today's call and your body weight, so recovery keeps going after the workout ends.
Free tells you what to do today. Pro coaches you through it, plans your week and helps you get better over time.
Free for everyone during the beta. Gym owners: Ember Pro can be covered for your members with a gym code.
Apple Watch records your HRV, resting heart rate and sleep overnight. Ember learns your normal over the first week.
A notification when you wake. Tell Ember how you feel and what you're training, and your targets update.
Start Ember on your watch for live coaching, then rate the effort. Tomorrow's call gets sharper every time.
Ember has no account and no ads. Your health data is scored on your iPhone and never sold. Ask Ember only sends today's numbers after you say yes, and never your name.
Ember works best with Apple Watch, which records everything automatically and runs live coaching. If you wear Oura, WHOOP or Garmin, share it into Apple Health and Ember reads it from there. No watch last night? Enter your numbers by hand.
Yes, for now. Ember runs on iPhone with an optional Apple Watch app.
The score, the call, heart rate targets, Ember Load, rest days, cycle and pregnancy modes, widgets and 7 days of trends are free. Ember Pro adds Ask Ember, live coaching on Apple Watch, Plan Match, load targets and full coaching, early warning, the week planner and recap, the guided max HR test and 30 days of trends, for $4.99 a month or $34.99 a year with a 7-day free trial. Everything is free during the beta.
Install Apple's free TestFlight app on your iPhone, then tap "Join the free beta" on this page. Ember installs like any other app, and the watch app comes with it.
Yes. Ember is built around class-style training: name the workout, tap what it trains (back, legs, conditioning and so on) and the targets fit the session. Strength days and conditioning days get different heart rate targets.
Ember needs about 7 nights to learn your normal, and the load target appears after 3 workouts. Until then the app marks the score as calibrating.
Yes. Turn on pregnancy mode in the You tab and add your due date. Ember stops calling Push days, lowers heart rate caps and load targets by trimester, coaches by the talk test, and lists the warning signs to stop and call your provider. After your due date it switches to postpartum mode. Always follow your provider's advice first.
No. Ember gives general fitness guidance and isn't a medical device. Talk to your doctor before changing your training if you have a heart condition or another health concern.

Ember is published by Danny White, doing business as Summit Point Studio ("we"). This policy explains what Ember reads and what happens to it.
With your permission, Ember reads the following from Apple Health on your iPhone: heart rate variability, resting heart rate, heart rate, sleep, active energy, workouts, and the sex and date of birth in your Health profile. If you turn on cycle-aware scoring, it also reads menstrual flow from Cycle Tracking to estimate your cycle phase. It also stores what you type into the app: your name, sex, gym name, workouts per week, typical workout length, goal, age, body weight, optional tested max heart rate, pregnancy or postpartum status and due date if you turn on pregnancy mode, daily workout selections, how you feel, and post-workout effort ratings.
Your recovery data stays on your iPhone. Ember has no account, no analytics and no advertising.
Ask Ember (Ember Pro). When you ask Ember a question, the app sends your question, the last few messages of that conversation, and today's numbers to our Ask Ember server. Those numbers are your recovery score and readings, today's targets and workout, how you feel, sleep, and profile basics such as goal, age, sex and heart rate zones. If you turn on cycle-aware scoring, your cycle phase is included. If you turn on pregnancy mode, your week of pregnancy or postpartum is included. Your name is never sent. Our server passes this to Anthropic, which provides the AI model, to write the answer. We don't use it for advertising, our server doesn't store or log it, and under Anthropic's commercial terms it isn't used to train their models. Before anything is sent, Ember shows you exactly what will be shared and with whom and asks your permission. Nothing is sent unless you allow it and ask a question. You can withdraw permission at any time in the app under You, then Ask Ember.
Apple Watch. Workouts you record with Ember on Apple Watch are saved to Apple Health, along with the heart rate recorded during them. The watch sends a short workout summary to Ember on your iPhone. Ember writes nothing else to Apple Health. Today's score and targets are also kept on your iPhone and watch so Ember's widgets can show them. They never leave your devices.
Purchases. Ember Pro subscriptions are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.
We do not sell your data. The only time health or fitness data leaves your devices is Ask Ember: with your permission, today's numbers go to our Ask Ember server and Anthropic to answer your question, as described above. We share it with no one else, and health data is never used for advertising or marketing.
Delete the app from your iPhone and Apple Watch to remove everything Ember stored. Workouts you recorded stay in Apple Health until you delete them there. You can turn off Ember's access at any time in the Health app under Sharing, then Apps.
Ember provides general fitness guidance. It is not a medical device and doesn't diagnose or treat any condition. Talk to your doctor before changing your training if you have a heart condition or another health concern.
Ember is not intended for anyone under 18.
Questions, bugs or ideas? Email us and a real person will get back to you, usually within a day.
If you're in the beta, you can also take a screenshot in Ember and tap Share Beta Feedback. It comes straight to us.
No score in the morning. Open the Health app, go to Sharing, then Apps, then Ember, and make sure everything is turned on. Wear your watch to bed with at least 30% battery. Or tap Enter numbers on the Today screen.
The watch shows yesterday's targets. Open Ember on your iPhone once. It sends today's plan to the watch.
No wake-up alert. Check that Morning reminder is on in the You tab and that notifications are allowed for Ember in Settings. The alert comes when your watch hands over last night's sleep, with a 9:00 AM backup.
No live coaching on the watch. Live coaching is part of Ember Pro, which is free for everyone during the beta. Make sure the watch app is installed from the Watch app on your iPhone, under Available Apps.
Ember Pro on a new phone. Go to the You tab and tap Restore Purchases.
